Demonstrations as Narrative
Images of demonstrations: September 29, 2001 Dolores Park
Many of us found this to be a fun, uplifting event, attended by gratifying numbers of
young people. Predominantly white, it reflected the constituencies of its organizers,
the traditional left and progressive groups who are experts as this sort of thing.
But it was a good thing to see so many turn out against the war we all knew was coming,
but which hadn't started yet.
We usually count a crowd which fills Dolores Park as about 25,000. This was pretty
close.
