Demonstrations as Narrative
Images of demonstrations: April 20, 2002, March and Rally, San Francisco
This shot should give you some sense of the enthusiastic Palestinian turn-out. One
of the ways in which mass rallies like this can be uplifting is by giving participants
a sense of their own strength. We spoke with many happy Palestinian
families this day who were thrilled at their own numbers, and by the solidarity shown
to them by white people and members of other ethnic groups.
