Images of demonstrations: October 26, 2002 San Francisco

October 26, 2002, Civic Center, San Francisco

"The Israelis cannot continue to use the Holocaust for the oppression of others."

The '60s antiwar movement was strategically divided between those advocating single-issue ("Out Now!") versus multi-issue organizing. In 1991 there was perhaps less room for a single-issue approach: it seemed so obviously to be a war for oil. As imperialism accelerates its new war drive into country after country, will this old divide return? Or are 21st century activists convinced the single-issue approach was wrong?
