Images of demonstrations: October 26, 2002 San Francisco
Standing ovation as Rep. Barbara Lee takes the stage. Congresswoman Lee was the only
member of congress to vote against war in Afghanistan.
It's interesting then that the anti-Afghanistan war rallies were less well-attended
than this. Why is that? Perhaps because this one built over a longer time, bringing
people from all over the western states? Or was the Afghanistan war easier to sell to
the American public, after 9-11?
