How to Help Out

What's a "Trouble Ticket"?

It's a complicated and good-natured pun, based on Lenin's pioneering work of 1914, Puns, the Highest Stage of Humor. It refers to the marriage of technology and activism we envision for our project.

Explanation:

At work or school, when you call the Help Desk to report a computer problem, the record which they open to track your report is called a "trouble ticket". Well, we're sort of like the technology help desk for activists. Sort of. And we like to call activists "troublemakers". And our articles and other resources are sort of like open trouble tickets: references to problems that need solving. And we consider all of our projects to be works in progress: open, unfinished, like a not-yet-closed trouble ticket. And the internet domain "troublemakers.org" wasn't available. So there you go.
